Hi I am Teena Hughes, Silk Artist / Textile Designer and I'd like to introduce you to my comprehensive 6-Week Silk Painting Training Course about painting on silk with steam-set dyes, with six Modules.

Even thought it says, "6 Weeks", feel free to proceed at your own pace - it's entirely up to you.

This Course was originally a face-to-face Course for quite a few years, then it became a 6 Week Online Course, and now it's available at your own pace :

Ideas of items to make from hand-painted silk

This design is 3 colours - hot pink, orange and purple, which have been hand-painted in a very simple tartan style. Imagine this silk turned into these gorgeous items:

• cushion covers
• framed paintings
• clothing
• accessories like scarves, ties etc.
  

What's included in the Course:

• Each of the 6 Modules is broken down into 1 hour of video presentations (six x 10-minute video sessions per Module), available as streaming media via the Internet training course for viewing on a computer or portable device
• Transcripts of all the modules (for those who prefer to read the information rather than watch the video)
• MP3 audio files may become available to listen to in the car, while commuting or doing other tasks/sports etc
• Checklists of equipment and supplies for each step of the way
• Task sheets for each Module, outlining specific activities to undertake before moving on to the next module.

MODULE 1 - PREPARATION & TOOLS

The focus for the first Module is learning all about the tools of the trade, the ways to use them and how to care for them so they'll last for years.

• STRETCHING - covering several ways to stretch silk for projects; how to attach silk to frames
• FRAMES - different types, including instructions on making one at home, and easy-to-follow videos on how to assemble
